recycleRecycling Extravaganza

Kane County will hosts its annual recycling event on July 8th

Kane County is once again hosting an annual recycling extravaganza event that includes free document shredding on Saturday, July 8th, 2017 from 8am - 12 noon, at 540 S Randall Road in St. Charles. Please see the EVENT POSTER for more details, and please read below information to make the most of your event experience!

Tips for optimal event experience
  1. Please arrive between the hours of 8am and 11:45am for optimal service. Please do not arrive early, as it creates a pile up before we even begin. Thank you.
  2. It is recommended that you approach on the North-bound side of Randall, coming up from 38 towards 64, so that you can easily turn right, into the event at the Kane County Traffic Court building. If you approach on the South-bound side of Randall, you may have difficulty turning left into the event site across the oncoming traffic, and the lineup creates a traffic flow problem on Randall.
  3. Please check out this MAP of the event to see the order in which things will be unloaded so that you can pack your car accordingly. This helps us to serve you more efficiently.
  4. Stop into Colonial Café for brunch after recycling! You will receive a discount coupon as you go through the event that you can use right away!
Costs
  • TVs and Computer Monitors have a recycling fee paid directly to the non-profit recycler ($25 for screens under 21" - measured diagonally across the screen, or $35 for screens 21" and over), payable by the resident with cash or card.
  • Latex Paint has a recycling fee per container ($3.50/gal), payable by the resident with cash or check.
Please review the event list for a complete inventory of items acceptable for recycling and those that are not.

Please go to: www.countyofkane.org/recycling for more information, or contact Jennifer Jarland, Kane County's Recycling Program Coordinator at recycle@countyofkane.org or 630-208-3841 with any questions.

cmapCMAP Forum: Economic Opportunity

Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning continues its Alternative Futures Forum Series with a look at economic mobility

The opportunity to move up the economic ladder has been a cornerstone of the American Dream, yet research shows that less than 50 percent of Millennials will make more money than their parents.  Unequal access to education, employment, and critical resources is preventing some individuals from realizing their full potential - and, ultimately, limiting the region's growth and competitiveness.  How can metropolitan Chicago adapt to ensure that the American Dream is obtainable here, and that our economy is thriving between now and 2050?  Register today to join us for this Alternative Futures forum.

This forum is co-sponsored by Cook County, the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association, Southwest Conference of Mayors, and Will County Governmental League.
